Finding Certainty in Uncertainty

The last week has been a whirlwind. My anxiety levels have been high and my thoughts have been jumping rapidly from one topic to another. As I began to question the why I found little clarity in my current situation. Uncertainty in life is to be expected. As humans we are not meant to know and uncover everything all at once. However, it is human instinct to get lost in our thoughts, emotions and feelings. We often use emotions and feelings interchangeably, though, our emotions are much more physical and reveals the effect that a situation has left. Whereas our feelings provide an insight to our current mental state. Reflecting on my thoughts, emotions and feelings allowed me to gain a perception on where I was at and where I wanted to be.

I entered on a slow incline striving for the top. My feelings consisted of excitement and determination as I made my way onto a new adventure. Though this adventure didn’t last for long. The excitement soon dwindled away as realisation struck and I was hit with indignation and anxiety. This new adventure most certainly wasn’t for me. Thus began the fall where I felt dejected. My feelings had hit a low as I became aware, yet again I had to start over. I was left exhausted and disappointed in a career that I once seen with so much hope. Consequently, I often found myself in a bad mood and taking it out on others with little to no excitement to do things that brought me joy. Therefore, I made the decision to step back and take breather. I have given myself time to gather my thoughts, emotions and feelings and prepare them for a stimulating new journey.

Now this journey is yet to be clarified. It’s not happened yet and it might not happen for a while. Nevertheless, I know it will happen and when that time arrives I will reach my high. Again, we aren’t meant to know everything but we should know that regardless of loosing our attitude and excitement our time will rise. In the meantime, we have to focus on ourselves. I have started to ask myself questions, as though I’m in some sort of life interview. What are your goals? Not just your little goals like getting that blog post written for next but your big ones. Where do you see yourself in your future? What is your future? Where will you be? And How will you get there? These are the types of questions that bring some clarity to your uncertainty. Planning and setting out your goals only leads to success.

Do you want success? Yes. We all do, and every individuals idea of success differs but the road to get there does not. I am using my current situation as an experience, an occurrence in my life that has allowed me to look through some clear glasses. From every situation we encounter no matter how negative we have to search for the positives. As humans we often spend to much time focusing on the negatives that allow all the positives to slip through our fingers. We need to find a balance that will keep all our emotions, thoughts feelings on track. If one day you feel demotivated with a low mood, let yourself have this time to be negative and work on finding the solution to the situation. Sometimes negativity can awaken you to what is not meant to be. I had a negative experience in a new job and my attitude hit rock bottom as I worked from 6am – 11pm and earned little to nothing. However, this negative situation quickly taught me that it wasn’t meant to be and that’s okay. In life we have to experience things that aren’t made for us in order to find what is meant for us.

Don’t lose hope and keep on trying.
